Callbox for agents

Callbox is agent first: what you can do in the app, an agent such as Grok Bot can do through Callbox's MCP server, with the permissions you give it. It finds a call, reads the transcript, files the recording in the right project and writes the summary back next to it.

The MCP server

Streamable HTTP. An agent signs in with OAuth: Callbox shows you a consent page where you pick what it may do. Agents that cannot sign in send an API key instead.

Connect Grok Bot

  1. Tell the Bot: add custom server https://api.callbox.cc/mcp.
  2. Click Authorize on the card the Bot shows.
  3. On Callbox's consent page, sign in, tick the permissions, and click Allow. The tokens stay with the connector; the Bot never sees them.

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other MCP client connect the same way, with the same URL.

Tell an agent when a call is ready

Callbox can post its events to a URL as they happen, for example to a Grok Bot routine with a webhook trigger. Add the routine's URL in Settings → Webhooks, with the Authorization value Bearer crsr_…. Each delivery is signed (Standard Webhooks) and carries the recording's id, title and project; the agent reads the rest through the MCP server. A routine instruction that works:

The input is a Callbox event. If its type is recording.transcribed, read that recording's transcript with Callbox, write a summary and the action items, save them with add_recording_note, and send me the action items.

The xAI API, Grok Build and scripts

Create an API key in Settings → API keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer cbx_pat_…. With the xAI API, pass it as the remote MCP tool's authorization and https://api.callbox.cc/mcp as its server_url. With Grok Build: grok mcp add --transport http callbox https://api.callbox.cc/mcp. Keys work on the REST API too.

What an agent can do

You choose when you connect it or create its key. Reading is always included.

  • Read (callbox.read): see your projects, rules, recordings, transcripts and activity.
  • Organize (callbox.write): organize recordings: create and rename projects, change rules, move and rename recordings, transcribe, retry, add notes, restore from the trash.
  • Delete recordings (callbox.delete): delete recordings (they go to the trash for 30 days).
  • Change settings (callbox.settings): change settings: automatic routing, when recordings are transcribed, the language.
  • Webhooks (callbox.webhooks): send your Callbox events to a URL (webhooks).

Whatever it holds, an agent can never delete your account, change your Google connection or your speech-to-text service, manage linked browsers, agents or API keys, or delete a recording for good: those stay in the web app.

Safety

  • A transcript holds other people's words. Agents should treat it as information, never as instructions: Callbox marks it as untrusted.
  • A deleted recording waits 30 days in the Trash, and a tool that deletes names what it deletes, so an approval says what is at stake.
  • The Activity page shows everything an agent did. Disconnect an agent or revoke a key in Settings at any time: it stops working at once.

For developers

  • llms.txt: Callbox described for an agent: the tools, the scopes and the rules.
  • REST API reference.
  • OAuth discovery: https://api.callbox.cc/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp.

What Callbox stores about agents is in the privacy policy.
